- Ladli Laxmi Yojana was started by the Madhya Pradesh government from 01 April 2007 with the objective of positive thinking of the public towards the birth of a girl child in the state, improvement in sex ratio, improvement in the educational level and health status of girls and laying the foundation of their good future and ensuring the all-round development of girls.

Objective of the scheme:-
- To improve the sex ratio index in Madhya Pradesh.
- To create a positive attitude towards the birth of girl child among the general public.
- To improve the education and health status of girl child in the society.
- To reduce the population growth rate.
- To encourage family planning, especially to discourage the hope of having a boy child after the birth of two girl children.
- To provide a good foundation for the bright future of girl child.
- To prevent female foeticide/infanticide.
- To create a positive and enabling environment for the development of girl child.
- To discourage child marriage and encourage marriage at the legally acceptable age.
Eligibility:-
- A girl child born on or after 1 January 2006.
- The girl child should be registered in the local Anganwadi Centre.
- The parents should be natives of Madhya Pradesh.
- The parents should not be income tax payers.
- Parents who have two or less children should have adopted family planning after the birth of the second child.
The girl child born from the first delivery will be given benefits without family planning. - To give benefits to the girl child born from the second delivery, it is necessary for the mother/father to adopt family planning.
Benefits from the scheme:-
- Under the scheme, an assurance certificate of Rs. 1,43,000/- is issued by the government in the name of the girl.
- The girl registered under the scheme is given a scholarship of Rs. 2000/- on admission in class 6th, Rs. 4000/- on admission in class 9th, Rs. 6000/- on admission in class 11th and Rs. 6000/- on admission in class 12th.
- If the Ladli girls take admission in graduation or professional course (minimum course duration two years) after class 12th, an incentive amount of Rs. 25000/- will be given in two equal installments in the first and last year of the course.
- The tuition fee for higher education (graduation) of the Ladli girls will be borne by the government.
- There is a provision for making the final payment of Rs. 1.00 lakh when the girl child attains the age of 21 years, appears in Class 12th examination and gets married after attaining the age prescribed by the Government.

- If you are eligible for Ladli Laxmi Yojana, you can apply for it online.
- You can fill the Ladli Laxmi Yojana form by submitting documents at Anganwadi.
